The Guangxi Makerspace Demonstration Base in Nanning was recently designated as a National Entrepreneurial Incubation Demonstration Base by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
Since the base came into operation in December 2015, it has incubated 253 entrepreneurial projects, generated operating revenue of more than 250 million yuan ($37 million), and provided jobs for nearly 10,000 people.
Hordes of college students, veterans, and overseas returnees started their businesses there and saw their projects prosper. Qutan Music, an online musical instrument teaching platform, and LabsCare, a laboratory information management system provider, are among the most successful of them.
In addition to startup incubation, the base has also hosted multiple brand activities including the Guangxi Entrepreneurship Competition, the Guangxi University Entrepreneurial Star Selection, and the Guangxi Maker Sports Meeting to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.
