China Art Festival to open in Shanghai

The 12th China Art Festival & Cultural Innovative Product Expo will be held at Shanghai Exhibition Center from May 19 to 22.

More than 700 cultural institutions from across China have confirmed their participation in the expo, including the Palace Museum, the National Museum of China and the Prince Kung's Palace Museum, all from Beijing, and the Shanghai Museum.

The Palace Museum alone will bring more than 120 kinds of articles of 10 series to the expo, including bronze wares, silk, porcelains, bags, cups and books. Visitors will also be able to appreciate folk operas, intangible cultural heritages, cartoons, animations, video games, movies and TV dramas at the expo.

With the theme of "Jiangnan Culture", the Shanghai Museum will also bring 120 kinds of products of three series to the expo to demonstrate the attractions of Shanghai-style culture, including bags, brush and ink sets, paintings with gold foils and jewelries of mountain and water series. Jiangnan refers to the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai.
