Chen Long, Chen Yufei to lead Chinese squad for Sudirman Cup

Chen Long and Chen Yufei will lead the Chinese team for men's singles and women's singles respectively in the upcoming 2019 Sudirman Cup, according to a 20-player list recently released by the Chinese Badminton Association.

The other two Chinese players slated for men's singles are Shi Yuqi and Lu Guangzu, while He Bingjiao and Han Yue will play in women's singles. It is the first time that Lu Guangzu and Han Yue will participate in the Sudirman Cup.

In mixed doubles, China fields the strongest pairs: world No 1 Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong, and the world No 2 Wang Yilyu/Huang Dongping.

Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen will be the leading pair for men's doubles, while young stars Han Chengkai/Zhou Haodong will make their Sudirman Cup debut. Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan, and Du Yue/Li Yinhui will compete in women's doubles pairs.

The 16th Sudirman Cup will be held in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, from May 19 to 26. China will face Malaysia and India in group D.
