Yingxian and Huairen counties in northern Shanxi province were connected to the national high-speed rail network on May 1 -- as four bullet trains to and from Huairen East Railway Station were launched on the day.
The newly added high-speed train services, operating on the 150-kilometer long Hanjialing-Yuanping Railway, comprise shuttle trains running between Taiyuan South Railway Station and Huairen East Railway Station, Hongtong West Railway Station and Huairen East Railway Station, as well as a train from Huairen East Railway Station to Yuncheng North Railway Station.
The bullet train services will greatly boost the travel and economic activities in Yingxian county, Huairen county, Taiyuan city and Yuncheng city -- with the journey between Taiyuan and Huairen shortened to around two hours, saving at least one hour compared with time taken by conventional trains.
