China witnessed a tourism boom around the country during this year's May Day holiday from May 1 to 4.
According to an official announcement by Yangzhou city of Jiangsu province, its eight main scenic spots received 918,600 tourists during the holiday, up 30.3 percent year on year, among which the Slender West Lake alone received 315,400 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 35.7 percent.
Yangzhou has made full use of its profound culture in recent years. The city organized plenty of interactive cultural activities to amplify the unique charm of its history and culture during the holiday.
