A special talent show was held in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province on May 4 to celebrate the opening of the International Canal City Culture and Tourism Exhibition.

People from the United States, Britain, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine performed Kunqu Opera, Liuqin Opera, Xiju Opera and some other traditional art forms of the cities along the Grand Canal in Jiangsu.

The extensive and profound Chinese culture is currently attracting more and more foreign fans. And Justin Scholar from the United States is one of them. He performed Shuangtuimo, a celebrated Xiju Opera play, at the talent show.

"I couldn't tell the difference between Chinese, Japanese and Korean cultures until I met my friends from China at college. The time I heard the traditional Chinese music, I fell in love with this country at once," said Scholar.

Although Scholar has only been learning Chinese traditional instruments for three years, he has mastered 26 instruments including erhu (a bowed two-stringed instrument) and hulusi (an instrument made from a gourd).
