A university science and technology achievement transfer and transformation center was established at Shanxi University on April 27.
More than 500 businesspeople from over 160 companies across Shanxi province, government officials, and university professors attended the ceremony.
The center is meant to recognize the university's efforts in promoting the commercialization of technological achievements and is expected to benefit regional development, said Huang Guitian, president of Shanxi University.
Wu Junqing, director of the Shanxi Provincial Education Department, hoped that with the only university science and technology achievement transfer and transformation center recognized by the Ministry of Education, Shanxi University would be able further improve its disciplines and cooperate with other regions and companies to enhance technical innovation and promote the commercialization of technological achievements.
The university signed partnership agreements with the government of Baode county in Xinzhou city, the North China branch of China Electronics Technology Cyber Security Co, and Czech Norman Environmental Technology Co at the founding ceremony.
After the signing ceremony, experts and scholars were invited to share their opinions about recent policies on intellectual property, the commercialization of technological achievements, university technology transfers, and company technology innovation.
In addition, Shanxi University held a promotional fair for its technological achievements, where it carried out negotiations with other companies.
