The Harbin branch of China Railway Harbin Co will add 15 trains to popular tourism destinations and neighboring cities to help cope with the surge in travelers during the May Day holiday travel rush from April 30 to May 4. The trains will mainly serve short and mid-distance tourists.
Additional trains will include high-speed trains running from Harbin to Beijing, Jiamusi, Tongjiang, and Qitaihe, as well as a tourist train from Qiqihar to Zhalantun in Inner Mongolia.
An additional three trains will also run from Suihua and Qiqihar to Fuyuan. The trains are specifically for migrant workers planting rice in Sanjiang Plain.
Train stations under the jurisdiction of the Harbin Railway Bureau are anticipated to receive approximately 1.99 million passengers over the four-day period, a year-on-year increase of 11 percent.
