Hohhot railway to increase trains for May Day holiday

More trains connecting Hohhot with Ulaanqab and Bayannuur will be introduced from April 30 to May 5 for the upcoming May Day holiday, which starts on May 1, according to an announcement by the Hohhot Railway on April 23.

Two trains, K7924 and K7923, will link the city with Ulaanqab throughout the holiday. According to the schedule, K7924 will leave Hohhot at 14:20 for Jining district south station in Ulaanqab, taking around 90 minutes. The return train will leave Ulaanqab at 16:34 the same day.

Hohhot Railway will also increase the number of trains running between Hohhot and Bayannuur. Train K7925 will leave Hohhot for Linhe district in Bayannuur at 13:21, and the return train K7926 will leave Bayannuur at 18:26.

Just one week away, the May Day holiday this year has been lengthened to four days and a travel rush is expected throughout the holiday.

The rush is expected to begin as early as April 27, and peak on April 29 and 30.
