Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province sets each year's Grain Rain, a solar term of the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, as the city's "Talent Day" for attracting and retaining more talents.
The city welcomed its first "Talent Day" on April 20. Release of young talents' policies, start of international young talent communities and stations, local talents' roadshows, "Belt and Road" young scholars' forums and other events took place during the "Talent Day".

Official statistics show that Ningbo successfully attracted over 10,200 talents in 2018, with a net talent inflow rate of 10.08 percent, ranking second in the country.
To achieve the goal, Ningbo has made a lot of efforts.
It firstly issued three intensive talent recruitment notices to invite elite individuals from all over the world during Spring Festival last year. In 2018, Ningbo successfully attracted 48 top talents including academicians at home and abroad, 160 leading talents and over 2,000 high-quality overseas professionals.
Ningbo also loosened conditions for fresh graduates -- with a college degree or above could settle down before getting a job.
