China XD Group

China XD Group was established in July 1959. Based on five of the 156 key construction projects in China's first Five-Year Plan (1953-1957), it has developed a group of research institutes and backbone enterprises and is a conglomerate integrating R&D, manufacturing, services, trade and finance.

XD Group’s main businesses include the research and development, design, production, sales and testing of power transmission and distribution and control equipment, relevant equipment technology and service in a complete set, and engineering contracting. Its core business is the production, R&D and testing of high voltage, extra high voltage and extreme high voltage AC/DC power transmission and distribution equipment.

After half a century’s development, XD Group has become an R&D, manufacturing, testing and trade base of high-voltage, extra high voltage and extreme high voltage AC/DC power transmission and distribution equipment and other electrical products. It won the National May 1 Labor Certificate in 2008.

By the end of 2017, XD Group owned over 60 active or holding enterprises, which included 19 for large or medium key production, two research institutes (including three national testing centers), and two financial companies. It has two listed holding enterprises.

By the end of 2017, XD Group had fully implemented an innovation strategy and carried out scientific and technological innovation projects arising from the 11th Five-Year Plan (2002-2010). It had accomplished 1,259 new self-developed key products. Among them, 164 reached the international most advanced level, 464 reached the international leading level, and 256 reached the national most advanced level.

It obtained 2,104 patents and won 12 national scientific and technical awards, 191 provincial or industrial scientific and technical awards, and 87 at municipal level. From 2008 to 2010, it twice won awards launched to honor central state-owned enterprises with scientific and technological innovations. At present, XD Group holds five products included in the list of China Top Brands, and 24 and 23 products in the lists of provincial and municipal famous brands, respectively. In addition, it has been identified as a demonstration enterprise for intellectual property rights by the central and provincial governments.

XD Group is actively promoting Belt and Road construction and implementing the going-global strategy. It has developed various channels to tap into overseas markets and boost globalization. Its products and services have been exported to more than 50 countries and regions. It has cooperated with Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia and Russia, enjoying a high reputation and brand image in global markets.
