Cybersecurity issues came into sharp focus with the application of advanced technologies including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, the internet of things, big data, and blockchain.
The West Lake Cybersecurity Conference, focusing on security in the digital era, convened in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on April 20, with around 150 government officials, industrial experts and leading entrepreneurs in attendance.
The conference is an annual event which aims to improve communication and cooperation between governments and internet corporations. It focuses on cutting-edge technologies and the industrial landscape of network security in the era of data economy.
One of the highlights of this year's meeting was a roundtable talk where four industrial experts from the Chinese Academy of Engineering shared ideas on a large spectrum of topics, such as the maneuverability and safety of network security technology and artificial intelligence.
An exhibition consisting of five main sections was held on the sideline of the conference.
Conference attendees also oversaw a network technology competition in the areas of intelligent city, digital economy, blockchain, cloud computing and big data security. Opening to 20 provinces and cities around the country, the competition awarded the 10 most outstanding innovations.
The conference has been held every year since 2012.
