Greater Bay Area academician and expert alliance launched in Nansha

Launched by a total of 22 universities, scientific research institutions, and associations including Hong Kong University, University of Macao, Sun Yat-sen University, and Guangdong Academy of Sciences, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Academician and Expert Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance was set up on April 21.

More than 40 academicians and experts from the alliance gathered in Guangzhou's Nansha district at the launch ceremony and attended a special seminar aimed at sharing their insights on the development of Nansha and the Guangdong-Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.

Liu Renhuai, an academician at Chinese Academy of Engineering; Vivian Wing-Wah Yam, a professor at Hong Kong University, and Liu Liang, president of Macao University of Science and Technology, were selected as the chairpersons of the alliance in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao respectively.

The alliance will focus on three main areas in the future, including hosting forums to promote exchanges among the government, enterprises, universities, and research institutions, introducing the preferential policies in the Greater Bay Area, and organizing an innovation and entrepreneurship competition.
