Chinese runners dominated the 2019 Jingxi Border City International Marathon on April 21 with a clean podium sweep in both the men's and women's full marathon.
The event, which consisted of a 42-kilometer full-marathon, a 21-kilometer half-marathon, a four-kilometer mini-marathon, and fun runs, featured 6,698 runners from China, the United States, France, Vietnam, and Ethiopia.
Setting off from the Jingxi Sports Center at 8 am, particiants had to dash past a wetland park, two 4A scenic spots, and three ancient towns before looping back to the starting point.
Chen Huawei came first in the men's full-marathon at two hours and 36 minutes, followed by compatriots Wei Wenzhong and Huang Dayou. Deng Yufang, Huang Yuhong, and Yang Lan were the top three runners in the women's full-marathon.
