China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN), formerly known as the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group, is a central state-owned enterprise that has gradually grown and expanded with China’s reform and opening up and the development of China’s nuclear power business. It consists of the core company China General Nuclear Power Group Co Ltd and more than 40 major member companies. In September 1994, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group Co Ltd was formally incorporated. In April 2013, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group Co Ltd was renamed China General Nuclear Power Group Co Ltd.
By 2017, CGN had 20 nuclear power generating units in operation, with an installed capacity of 21.47 million kilowatts; 8 nuclear power generating units are under construction with 10.27 million kilowatts of installed capacity. It possesses 11.3 million kilowatts of installed capacity in wind power holding machines, 2.31 million kilowatts in solar photovoltaic power generation projects and 11.6 million kw in overseas new energy. In addition, CGN has a good development in areas such as distributed energy, nuclear technology applications, and energy-saving technology services.
