The cultural festival French Croisements will begin its 2019 event on April 26, according to the press conference given by the French Consulate General in Guangzhou on April 17.

The festival will feature a series of art events in 35 cities across the country, including more than 30 art events in nine cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Xiamen in south China, which covers dramas, music shows, circus performance, and movies.
French Croisements is the largest foreign cultural festival held in China and the most important French cultural festival held in countries outside France, according to Siv Leng Chhuor, consul general of France in Guangzhou.

The beginning of the festival in the south China region will be marked by an photography exhibition featuring Marc Riboud, the renowned French photographer, held in Shenzhen. The exhibition will showcase Riboud's works on China from the mid-20th century to the 21st century.
From July 6 to 7, Guangzhou Opera House will stage the opera Don Juan directed by French director Laurent Lafargue. The opera will be performed jointly by Chinese and French artists.
