International distribution center brings profitable business to Nansha

A business promotion conference for Nansha International Distribution Center was held in Guangzhou on April 17.

The center will make full use of the policies of Nansha Free Trade Zone, using the method of sub-account management to achieve efficient warehouse storage.

In the future, Nansha bonded area will have a large number of multifunctional warehouses. The distribution center avoids re-entry processing, greatly improves trade efficiency and reduces storage logistics costs.

"The time for domestic customers to buy a US lipstick online from the original 15 days is reduced to three days, and the average customs clearance time is now less than one hour. This allows us to increase the trade in Nansha Port," said Pan Yuzhang, deputy director of the Administrative Committee of Nansha Development Zone.

As early as 2017, the center signed a contract with Nansha. To date, it has completed the construction of facilities and equipment, process design and project system construction.

The first overseas customer business has been introduced, and the import and export volume has exceeded 200 million yuan ($30 million）.

Before the operation of the center, Nestlé, a world-renowned trading partner, had to use bonded trade and general trade.

With the help of this distribution center, Nestlé now only needs to bring the entire container to the warehouse in the bonded area, and unload the goods in the warehouse. Bonded goods, general trade goods, and re-export goods can be stored in the same warehouse.

“We feel that the whole trade is very smooth. This is really one of the samples of trade liberalization and economic globalization,” said Phajongkit, head of Nestlé Trading China.

The Nansha Management Committee, together with the Customs, is relying on the Guangzhou Nansha Bonded Port Area to become an international distribution center in all respects.

Nansha benchmarks the international free port management model, takes the business needs of the enterprise as the guide and applies informationization and scientific and technological supervision to achieve general trade, carrying trade, bonded trade, cross-border e-commerce trade, domestic trade and other means of the movement of goods.

The distribution center also uses the global quality traceability system pioneered by the Nansha Free Trade Zone to supervise the quality of domestic and foreign high-quality products, and protects intellectual property rights and consumer rights.

It can also provide value-added services such as supply chain financing and simple processing, as well as product combinations and packaging to help producers and traders improve their market competitiveness.

The project will continue to attract popular high-quality products from all over the world, including French perfume, German beer, Japanese and Korean beauty products, and Australian health products.
