China Southern Air Holding Company (CSAH) was established on October 11, 2002. As one of the three major air transportation groups managed by the central government, it specializes in air transportation and cargo logistics, and has also engaged in aero engine maintenance, import & export trading, financing, media & advertising, and real estate. Publicly listed on the Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York Stock Exchanges, China Southern presently has 15 branches, 6 bases, 25 domestic offices and 68 international offices.

China Southern has a huge aircraft fleet. It is the greatest airline in Asia in terms of fleet size and passenger traffic. Currently, it operates 700 aircraft and helicopters, including the Airbus A380 (the biggest aircraft in the world) and the Boeing B787. In terms of fleet size, China Southern is the largest in Asia and the fourth globally. In 2015, it carried more than 110 million passengers, ranking the first in Asia and the fourth in the world, and it has been the top of all Chinese Airlines for 37 consecutive years.
China Southern Airlines has an outstanding safety record. By December 31, 2015, it had achieved 15.26 million hours of safe flights, or 259 consecutive months of aviation safety. It has carried more than 900 million passengers without incident, taking a leading position both in China and abroad in terms of safety record and safety management. In September 2012, China Southern won the “Diamond Flight Safety Award”, the top award for flight safety in the Chinese civil aviation industry, and it has the highest safety star-level in China.
China Southern has a comprehensive route network with Guangzhou, Beijing, Urumqi and Chongqing as its core hubs. The network links Europe, the United States, Australia and Africa. International cooperation
China Southern boasts the greatest comprehensive support capability in China and also possesses an independent pilot training competency. In partnership with CAE, Inc, the world-renowned flight simulator manufacturer, it built a Flight College together with Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Zhuhai Flight Training Center, the largest in Asia. It also has a vibrant aircraft maintenance capability which includes one of the largest aircraft maintenance hangars in Asia, owned by the Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering Co. Ltd.(GAMECO), a subsidiary of China Southern Airlines. In addition, in partnership with MTU Aero Engines, China Southern operates the largest aero engine maintenance base in China in terms of facility and overhaul capabilities. With a complete support system, it independently developed the Flight Operation Control System and the Aero Engine Performance Monitoring System, which are the most advanced IT systems in the Chinese aviation industry and have earned the National Second Prize for Progress in Science & Technology. Currently, China Southern has a freight depot with an annual cargo throughput of 800,000 tons, and a specialized aviation catering center that can create and deliver more than 30 million aviation meals per year.
