For much of media history, people usually talked about various media formats such as newspapers, magazines, radio, and television as distinct platforms belonging to separate industries. Digitization and computer networking are now breaking down these barriers and prompting integration of all media to enable immediate exchange of content across multiple platforms.
Following this trend, the School of Media Convergence came into being under the joint sponsorship of the Lijiang College of Guangxi Normal University and Guilin Media Convergence Development Research Council. It intends to cultivate comprehensive talents that grasp the practical skills related to content production and market operation. Human resources, content, and public relations of different media forms will be integrated to create a more versatile media environment.
