Sixteen ferries will commute daily between Jiuzhou Port and Fuyong Marina carrying travelers ticketed for Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, starting Friday, April 26.
Earlier this year, the Zhuhai and Shenzhen governments signed an agreement for the new Zhuhai High-Speed Passenger Ferry route. Without it, those departing Jiuzhou must sail to Shenzhen Shekou Marina and then take a taxi or other transport, adding costs and an hour to the trip.
Ferries from Jiuzhou tentatively would run from 7:30 am to 6:10 pm, while returns from Fuyong Marina operate from 8:50 am to 8 pm. A permanent schedule will be posted after the official opening.
A one-way trip will take about 65 minutes, with tickets costing 125 yuan ($18.60). Shuttle buses will then take passengers to the airport's T3, only 2 km (1.2 miles) away and reachable in 2 minutes.
Shenzhen Bao'an is in Fuyong Town, Bao'an District. It operates more than 50 international routes and 7,500 flights every week. It is one of the busiest airports in the Pearl River Delta.
