The Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd (AVIC) was founded on November 6, 2008 through the restructuring and consolidation of China Aviation Industry Corporation I (AVIC I) and China Aviation Industry Corporation II (AVIC II).
AVIC is centered on aviation and provides complete services to customers in many sectors from research and development to operation, manufacturing and financing. Its business units cover defense, transport aircraft, helicopters, avionics and systems, general aviation, research and development, flight testing, trade and logistics, asset management, finance services, engineering and construction, and automobiles. AVIC has over 100 subsidiaries, nearly 27 listed companies and more than 450,000 employees.
AVIC is committed to the commercial transportation industry, cooperating with its global partners and actively participating in the development of international programs. The company is the Tier I supplier of ARJ-21 and C919 and produces parts and components for aircraft manufacturers worldwide. Its regional turboprop MA60 series, Y12s and AC series helicopters are exported.
AVIC has strong productivity and core competency in manufacturing and high-tech industries. It integrates aviation science and technology into automobiles, motorcycles, components and spare parts and develops products and technologies such as refrigeration equipment, electrical devices, environmental protection equipment and new energy technologies. Besides the aviation business, electronic products like LCDs, circuit boards, new energy products like lithium batteries and wind energy and auto parts are known for high quality and lead the industry in terms of technology and scale of economy.
AVIC provides various services including aircraft leasing, general aviation, transportation, medical services, and planning and construction. Several EPC and BOT projects have been successfully carried out in Asia, Africa and South America.
