Duty-free shops

Hainan offers an off-shore duty-free policy for foreign visitors who are at least 16 years old and boarding flights, trains or ships to leave the island.

To date, the island has opened four duty-free shops, with two in the provincial capital Haikou, one in Bo'ao town, Qionghai, the permanent site for Bo'ao Forum, and one in the resort city of Sanya on the southern tip of Hainan island.

Haikou Duty-free Store cover an area of 22,000 square meters in downtown Sanya.

The shop covers 38 duty-free categories ranging from perfume and cosmetics to bags and suitcases. Operated by Hainan Duty-free Co, the shop has attracted around 200 international brands such as Chanel, Dior and Gucci.

The duty free shop is located in Haikou's Meilan International Airport. It offers a variety of brands and products including Clinique, Burberry, Hermes, Gucci, Prada, Omega, Dior, Lancome, Tissot, Furla, and Ray Ban.

The shop is located near boarding gate 17 in the domestic departure terminal of the airport, and covers over 4,000 square meters.
