A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the General Administration of Customs and the Shanghai Municipal Government on Tuesday to promote the country's reform and opening-up policy.
Ni Yuefeng, head of the GAC, and Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong signed the memorandum on behalf of the two sides.
According to the memorandum, the GAC will support the city's construction of the free trade zone and the global scientific innovation center through innovations on institutions, mechanisms, policies and supervision technologies.
The administration will also cooperate with Shanghai on preparations for the second China International Import Expo and the national strategy on integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
Besides, the two sides will jointly enhance intelligent port management and accelerate the construction of the international foreign trade hub.
Next, Shanghai will promote the development of the national customs credit system, linkage mechanism of domestic ports, the big data platform of cross-border trade and the curriculum of Shanghai Customs College.
