The Hunchun railway port, located in Jilin province, saw its import-export volume exceed 700,000 tons this year on April 17, when a train carrying more than 3,100 tons of coal arrived at the port from Russia.
In recent years, Hunchun has been making every possible effort to push forward the Belt and Road Initiative and is seeking more cooperation with Russia and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The city will improve services for the Changchun-Hunchun-Europe train line, the Hunchun-Vladivostok highway project, and other projects linking the city with other areas.
In 2013, the Hunchun railway port processed more than 10,000 tons of imports and exports, and the number exceeded 3 million in 2018, as it began transporting a wider variety of cargo.
To enhance customs clearance efficiency, the Hunchun border checkpoint has also simplified procedures and improved service.
