Jiang Jianjun, mayor of Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, will lead a delegation to conduct economic and trade negotiations in Singapore, South Korea, and Japan from April 17 to 26.
In Singapore, the delegation will visit: Enterprise Singapore, a governmental agency championing enterprise development; Surbana Jurong, a Singaporean government-owned consultancy company focusing on infrastructure and urban development; and the Singaporean urban developer Sembcorp.
They will tour Jurong Island Chemical Industrial Park and discuss opportunities with Singaporean government officials and enterprises on ways to participate in the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in western Guangdong, an infrastructure project combining air, land, and sea transportation. They will also discuss cooperation in the construction, planning, and management of the Donghai Island Petrochemical Park project.
The delegation will also visit Kolon Plastics and the leading new chemical materials production base in South Korea. In Japan, they will have talks with German chemicals giant BASF's Japanese subsidiary and gain some insights into its production technology, safety management, and integrated management of production and R&D on its base.
