An unveiling ceremony for a landmark artificial intelligence supercomputing platform was held at Horinger New Area in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on April 15.
The powerful platform is the first of its kind in Inner Mongolia, helping to fill an existing gap in AI and supercomputing technologies in the region.
The initiative, which is the result of an investment by Beijing-based tech company Megvii, won the support of Horinger New Area.
It will offer services including cloud platforms for deep learning, training for search engines and resources storage.
Services for industry incubators, urban governance and engineering calculations will also be offered to the region.
According to the local government, the computing power of the platform is expected to rank among the top ones in the country.
Horinger New Area has led the city in promoting big data technologies and building cloud computing platforms since its establishment.
