An industrial development promotion fair was held in Yangzhou's Hanjiang district on April 17, attracting over 200 guests from home and abroad.
Organizers hosted the event with the goal of promoting the district to investors and stimulating local development.
A total of 30 projects worth 19.18 billion yuan ($2.87 billion) were agreed during the fair, covering industries such as tourism, high-end automobile manufacturing and advanced technology.
In addition, seven projects for Hanjiang district are expected to be agreed on April 18, including three foreign investment projects worth $50 million.
Jakob Linulf, the Danish consul-general in Shanghai, outlined Danish investment plans for a fairytale-themed town set to be built in Hanjiang's Xihu town.
He said that Yangzhou was a beautiful city and this agreement demonstrates the strong economic ties between China and Denmark.
Huang Huei Hua, general manager of Synbio Tech Inc, a Taiwan-based firm specializing in research and development, manufacturing and the application of lactic acid bacteria, said that since the company had invested in Hanjiang's Yangzhou National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone in 2016, it had benefited greatly from the various preferential policies enacted by the local government.
Fifteen experts in economics and technology from across China were appointed as consultants for the district during the event.
