A meeting to promote cooperation between Jilin companies and Guangdong Chanrong Holdings Co Ltd was held in Changchun, capital of Jilin province, on April 16.
Representatives from 29 companies throughout the Pearl River Delta attended the meeting to learn about Jilin's business environment and seek cooperation with the province.
The meeting serves as an exchange platform for companies from the two regions, said Xu Shengguang, general manager of Guangdong Chanrong Holdings.
Xu said that Jilin has lower land and labor costs than the Pearl River Delta, and it is strong in industries like equipment manufacturing and automobiles, making it a good partner for companies from the Pearl River Delta.
According to Xu, over the next three to five years, Guangdong Chanrong Holdings will help Jilin province bring in 30 to 50 public companies, with a focus on those in Jilin's competitive industries – medicine, automobiles and auto parts, and food processing.
Industrial funds and parks will also be set up to boost industrial and economic development in Jilin province, according to Xu.
