The central government will allocate 127.37 million yuan ($19 million) in 2019 to support public sports infrastructure construction in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
The General Administration of Sport of China will allot 17.61 million yuan from the public welfare lottery fund, a fund coming from part of lottery sales income, to help Guangxi build six community fitness centers, two sport parks, and four marathon tracks. It will also team with the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee to subsidize the region with 100 basketball courts and 200 sets of fitness facilities through a 10 million yuan specialized fund for cultural service system construction.
In addition, two comprehensive stadiums, one county-level fitness center, five community fitness centers, and five community sport fields will be built with a public welfare lottery fund of 23.5 million yuan from the Ministry of Finance.
The National Development and Reform Commission will also invest 76.26 million yuan in the construction of six football fields, five running tracks, and 10 fitness centers within the central budget for public sports popularization projects.
By the end of 2018, the per capita area of sports grounds was 1.56 square meters, and the number is expected to reach 1.7 square meters this year.
