The pre-roadshows for the Global Health Forum (GHF) of the Boao Forum for Asia were held in Qingdao, Shandong province on April 17 in preparation for the upcoming event.
More than 100 experts, scholars and business representatives from the fields of biomedicine and big health attended.
Seventy of the 100 innovative projects to be presented at the GHF were introduced at the pre-roadshows.
Based on thorough investigation of the present biomedical industry, GHF's organizing committee introduced 100 outstanding projects from home and abroad, all set to be publicized at the forum to be held from June 10 to 12 in Qingdao.
The organizing committee expected that these projects will promote the development of biomedicine and big health industries in the city and make technological innovation a core competitiveness of local companies.
According to Luo Xielong, executive director of GHF's organizing committee, the big health industry in China has promising prospects.
The industry in China will be valued at eight trillion yuan ($1.2 trillion) in 2020 and 16 trillion yuan in 2030.
Luo said that the Chinese companies involving in the industry are not short of productive forces, markets, or capital; what they are short of are innovative projects.
Approved by the State Council of China, the GHF is organized by the Boao Forum for Asia with extensive international influence
The event will focus on hot issues related to population health and pool the wisdom of all parties to promote global cooperation.
