Chongchuan district in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, held an important conference on April 10 to promote industry-university-research cooperation with the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST).
Nearly 100 representatives from local companies attended the event, where seven professors from USST presented their research on intelligent manufacturing, industrial design, environmental protection, computers and the internet.
Representatives from four local companies, including Tongfu Microelectronics and Coship Electronics, also explained their needs for technological support at the meeting.
The event provided a good opportunity for companies to sort out their technological requirements and a platform for industry-university-research cooperation, said Wang Wenxian, director of the district’s science and technology bureau.
According to Wang, more such events will be held in the future to help promote the industrial transformation and upgrading of local companies.
In recent years, the local government has placed great emphasis on the innovative development of science and technology, by carrying out incentives and organizing promotional activities.
It aims to set up a comprehensive service system and have more than 60 industry-university-research cooperation projects signed by 2020.
