Boxing championship opens in N China’s Baotou

The 2019 Inner Mongolia Youth Boxing Championship kicked off at Baotou Olympic Sports Center in the city of Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on April 12 -- attracting the participation of 380 athletes in 11 teams from 10 leagues and cities including Baotou, Hohhot and Hulunbuir, according to the Baotou Evening News.

The eight-day event, co-hosted by the Sports Bureau and Education Department of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is divided into six groups with a total of 45 levels. The participants are between the ages of 14 and 19.

Organizers said the numbers of athletes participating in the competition has been the highest ever in recent years.
