Jinan Maternity and Child Care Hospital

Jinan Maternity and Child Care Hospital (JMCH), a nonprofit academic and triple-A-level Maternity and Child Care hospital (MCH), was established in 1951, and through 60 years of development now integrates medical care, healthcare, prevention, rehabilitation, scientific research and community teaching.

Over the years, the hospital has always been committed to providing convenient, high-quality and efficient medical services to women and children in the city and surrounding areas. JMCH is ranked fifth in the country's overall ranking of 11 sub-provincial level MCHs.

Jinan Maternity and Child Care Hospital has previously earned many awards from the National Advanced Program for the Development of Women and Children, the National Advanced Group for the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Women and Children, the First International Baby-Friendly Hospital of the People's Republic of China, and the National Advanced Unit of Health System. JMCH’s high-quality services and technologies have been highly trusted and widely recognized.

As Shandong province's top maternity and child care hospital, JMCH has 1,069 employees, 924 of whom are technicians. More than 1.1 million outpatients and 50,000 inpatients are treated in the clinic annually. Nearly 20,000 babies are born at the hospital each year, accounting for 30 percent of all births in Jinan.

JMCH is also a national standardized training base for residents. As the teaching hospital of Shandong Traditional Medicine College, Mountain Tai Medicine College, Binzhou Medicine College and other practice teaching hospitals, and the Post-doctoral Workstation for Jinan, the hospital has an intake each year of 200 students from medical colleges and universities. It has been an important force in maternity and pediatric research. Funding at different levels across the country supports many discoveries and the continued expansion of the hospital's areas of research.

The hospital has three professional medical centers: Maternal Health Center, Women's Health Center and Children's Health Center. It also has a national demonstration base for early childhood development. Shandong province provides key specialty medical services for perinatal and eugenics, and obstetrics and gynecology as key clinical services. Maternal Health Center:

It is a pioneer in the areas of high-risk pregnancy management, nutritional guidance during pregnancy, fetal congenital heart disease screening, and won first place in provincial contests for neonatal asphyxia recovery, maternal and child health skills. A birth defects laboratory is the key laboratory in Jinan, which is the leading provider of genetic counseling, pre-pregnancy care, prenatal screening and diagnosis in the province.

Women's Health Center:

The facility is experienced and specializes in the prevention and treatment of common diseases in women, such as cervical lesions, endocrine diseases and trophoblastic disease. The health facility is managed by highly qualified reproductive health department staff and is equipped with reproductive technology for infertility. The breast care department is another distinctive department which focuses on the daily care and early diagnosis of breast diseases.
