The Shanghai-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge, the world's longest cable-stayed railway-expressway bridge, and the Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge, the world's first high-speed rail suspension bridge, were cited as prime examples during the discussions.
The Shanghai-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge spans 11 kilometers and consists of four railway lines and six expressway lanes. The main section of the bridge is 1,092 meters long.
The bridge links Zhangjiagang and Nantong and will help reduce travel times between the two cities to around one hour after it is completed in 2020.
