Guangxi is expected to further integrate into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which will feed the region's economy with investments and advanced technology. Guangxi and Guangdong will jointly promote the development of 28 major works related to issues such as infrastructure interconnectivity, industry collaboration and integration, and the construction of important cooperation platforms.
Guangxi's Hezhou and Wuzhou, the nearest cities to the Greater Bay Area, have made good use of advantages related to transportation, ecology, and resources to actively integrate into the development of the area. Hezhou will push forward the establishment of a pilot demonstration area, and focus on the mutual cooperation and industry integration with the area. Over the past years, Wuzhou has actively taken part in industry collaboration, and 60 percent of external investment was from the Greater Bay Area.

In order to further improve the facilitation level of port clearance, Guangxi will accelerate the construction of port infrastructure. The region has worked out the Three-Year Action Plan for Guangxi to Improve Port Comprehensive Ability (2019-21), and sped up the construction of a smart terminal at Qinzhou Port. It will also improve port services and reduce the overall customs clearance time to encourage more Guangxi enterprises to explore the foreign market and actively engage in international trade and commerce.
