Shandong University

Shandong University, founded in 1901, was the second national university in China. Its medical disciplines date back to 1864, and it was one of the first universities to conduct higher medical education in modern China.

The university has eight campuses in Jinan, Qingdao and Weihai, covering a total area of more than 8,000 mu (533.33 hectares). It has four affiliated hospitals, and 11 teaching and training hospitals.

The university has 12 disciplines: philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, engineering, agronomy, medicine, management and arts. A total of 16 majors at the university have entered the top 1 percent in the global rankings set by the Essential Science Indicators, also known as ESI, an authoritative analysis and evaluation tool for measuring scientific research performance.

Besides, it has reached inter-school cooperation with about 170 universities and colleges in more than 30 countries and regions.
