Buena Vista Concordia International School

Buena Vista Concordia International School (BCIS) is the only true All-American School in Shenzhen with an American-trained teaching team. It offers small-classroom instruction in American Common Core studies and unique Chinese courses. BCIS is committed to the overall "academic and character" education of students and is designed for a seamless integration with American and International Schools.

The school is associated with the Concordia educational system used in over 2,600 schools worldwide, including the Hong Kong International School (HKIS), Concordia International School Shanghai (CISS), and Concordia International School Hanoi (CISH). Shekou International School (Since 25 November 1997)

Quality Schools International (QSI) is committed to continuous curriculum development with goals set to improve the standard of student performance.

QSI is dedicated to evaluating the alignment of programs, courses, essential units and essential outcomes. Evaluation of course development is based on staff input, student needs, and external standards.

Planned Program and Course Outcome revisions on a yearly basis

Each year QSI organizes curriculum development in selected courses. It encourages staff to begin making changes while at school sites. The process is further developed during the summer writing session at Seattle Pacific University, where textbooks and related materials are evaluated and selected. The writing team then revises a draft of the course statements and sets goals for writing during the coming school year. The QSI curriculum team comes together at a designated time and location during the school year to complete the writing of the course and unit statements. The completed curriculum is then published and sent out to all QSI schools.
