Events in Qinhuangdao

Qinhuangdao International Marathon

Jointly sponsored by Athletics Association of China, Sport Administration of Hebei Province, and Qinhuangdao Municipal government, the Qinhuangdao International Marathon is held annually at Olympic Sports Center Stadium of Qinhuangdao.

Since 2014, the event has adhered to the concept of “release your passion in a marathon and enjoy your fantastic time in Qinhuangdao,” and Qinhuangdao has successfully held four marathons. It has become one of the gold medal events in the national marathons. After the beginning of the second marathon, it was identified as one of the stops of the National Marathon Championship.

The Qinhuangdao Marathon competition usually has two events: a full marathon and a mini marathon for both men and women respectively. Every year, about 20,000 runners from more than 10 countries come to compete, gathering here to happily compete and enjoy the annual marathon’s atmosphere.

Changli International Wine Festival

The Changli International Wine Festival has been held for 19 consecutive years and has become an important platform to promote wine culture, build wine brands, and enhance communication and friendship in the wine industry. Since 2000, the festival has held 150 events, attracting about 10 million visitors for wine tasting.

Qinhuangdao now has a wine grape cultivation base of 4,000 ha, and has established the first wine industry cluster region in China. Wine-themed leisure tourism has begun to take shape, and the wine industry has become one of the key industries in the city.

Free wine-tastings in tourist attractions, beach activities, vineyard camping, grape picking, and family wine-making contests are available to tourists during the festival. A competition among high-quality international wines from famous regions also takes place, with experts on red wine from home and abroad making up the judging panel.

China-Russia International Tourism (Beidaihe) Fair

The First China-Russia International Tourism (Beidaihe) Fair was held successfully from April 25 to 26, 2012, in Beidaihe, a coastal city in Hebei province. It created a platform for the tourism communities of China and Russia to demonstrate their tourism resources and to promote practical cooperation in tourism between China and Russia.

The fair, hosted by the Hebei Provincial Tourism Administration and Qinhuangdao People’s Government, set up a platform of communication for the administrative departments of tourism in both China and Russia. It mainly adopts booth displays, business negotiations, tourism development forums, and field visits as part of its itinerary. Travel agencies, tourism hotels, and related trade companies exhibited in booths, with on-the-spot transactions, and through tourism forums.

Additionally, in order to strengthen exchanges with other cities in China, Qinhuangdao also invited the tourism bureaus from Manzhouli, Suifenhe, Heihe, Harbin, Beijing, Sanya, Xiamen, Qingdao, Yantai, and Weihai to attend the fair.
