Events in the Great Wall
China Great Wall Cultural Tourist Festival (September 6-16)
As a symbol of the Chinese populace, the Great Wall has been entered into the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. The Great Wall wriggled in Hebei province is the longest, most well-preserved, and most representative in architectural style.
The China Great Wall Cultural Tourist Festival is held annually during September 6-16 to enable the tourists to have a further taste of the culture of the Great Wall, experiencing the rich ethnic customs along the Great Wall, and participating in the diversified sports and tourist activities.
The main activities of the event include trekking and cycling contests in eight sections of the Great Wall through Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province, with a distance of 1,500 kilometers, passing famous scenic spots of the Great Wall such as Badaling, Mutianyu, Jinshanling, Huangyaguang, Panjiakou, Shanhaiguan, Jiaoshan, Jiumenkou, and Laolongtou, at the same time visiting other well-known scenic spots along the Great Wall and enjoy the local ethnic customs, as well as watching the Jiegu battlefield performance at Shanghaiguan.
