Sixty-three young technicians from 10 countries such as Russia, the UK, and Japan gathered in Guangzhou recently for a warm-up match of World Skills 2019, a global event that organizes the world championships of vocational skills and will be held in Kazan, Russia in August.
Taking place at Guangzhou City Industry & Trade Technicians College, the warm-up competition included four events, which cover the areas of refrigeration and air conditioning, CAD mechanical design, network system management, and website design and development.

The participants included 25 technicians that will represent their own country in World Skills 2019.
The technicians from the countries represent the highest level of their countries, according to Wu Hongdong, deputy head of Guangzhou City Industry & Trade Technicians College, who mentioned that it was the fourth year for the Guangzhou college to host international exchange activities that center around the training of skilled personnel.

In the past four competitions, 22 competitors from Guangzhou won a total of two golds, two silvers, and five bronzes. For the upcoming Kazan competition, the southern Chinese city has secured qualifications in nine projects which cover CAD mechanical design, network system management, refrigeration and air conditioning, prototype design and production, heavy vehicle maintenance, woodworking, concrete construction, and masonry.
