Li Xiaoping, director of Xiamen's Foreign Affairs Office, met with Arsenio Lizaso, president of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex on April 8.
Li briefed Lizaso on the China Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival, one of the top events in China's film industry, to be held in Xiamen in November.
He said that Xiamen hopes to deepen cultural ties with the Philippines through enhanced cooperation in film, micro film, television, and music. Specifically, he hopes to collaborate with the consulate general of the Philippines in Xiamen and the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
Lizaso spoke highly of the rich history of exchange between China and the Philippines and expressed willingness to continue this tradition.
Lizaso was also invited to attend the Philippines Valuable Stamps Exhibition held at the local municipal museum on April 9.
The Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, also known as CCP Complex, occupies an area of 88-hectares and features several brutalist structures designed in the 1960s and 1970s.
