The city of Ordos in Inner Mongolia autonomous region is set to roll out its ambitious tree planting plan as the weather gets warmer.
Otog Front Banner in the city plans to plant 824,000 trees, covering an area of 667 hectares this spring, according to a recent media local report.
The tree planting activity is designed to get more residents involved by establishing memorial forests with different themes, such as creating a “volunteer forest”, “parent-children forest” and a “family forest”.
Officials said that by early April, the preparation for the work had been accomplished.
