International marathon to begin in Wuhai in May

A press conference was held in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on April 10. At the conference, it was announced that the 2019 Tour of the Wuhai Lake International Marathon will be held in Wuhai on May 5.

Tens of thousands of athletes from throughout China and eight other countries will participate in the competition. Nearly 300,000 yuan ($44,674) in prizes will be awarded to 848 athletes.

This will be the third marathon held in Wuhai. It consists of three events: the full marathon (42.195 kilometers), half marathon (21.0975 km), and mini-marathon (about 5 km).
