The city of Baotou’s Jiuyuan district witnessed steady development of its tourism industry during the Qingming Festival period which ran from April 5-7, with total tourism revenue hitting 5.12 million yuan ($762,500), reports Baotou Daily.
The district welcomed a total of 72,150 tourists during the holiday period.
The district, home to numerous historical sites including the Great Walls constructed during the Warring States period (475-221BC), the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC) and the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24), and partly-surviving ancient villages from the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), received 72,150 tourists in total during the holiday period.
