Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University in Shenyang, the capital of northeastern Liaoning province, will soon offer a cutting-edge smart medical service with the help of a new 5G network.
According to a cooperation agreement signed on April 3 between the hospital and the China Mobile and China Telecom's Liaoning branches and Chinese software giant Neusoft Corp, Shengjing Hospital will become a leading 5G smart hospital in China.
It makes the Shengjing Hospital the first medical institution to offer such a service in northeastern China.
A research institute will be built focusing on the innovations of 5G-based smart Internet of Things technology and the applications of 5G technology in smart hospitals.
The institute will apply for and undertake high-end research programs and incubate cutting-edge innovative applications.
Shengjing Hospital aims to makes its emergency treatment more intelligent, and apply the same process to its clinical diagnosis and treatment, research and education, and graded diagnosis and treatment.
"As a public hospital, we must go all out to lead the way. 5G is a revolutionary technology," said Zhao Yuhong, Party chief of Shengjing Hospital.
"The 5G-based smart hospital will bring unprecedented high-quality medical experience to people."
At the same time, 5G will also improve the hospital's management, providing more scientific and efficient work experience for both hospital managers and employees, Zhao added.
