An exhibition to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the issue of the Chinese national currency, the renminbi, opened at the Liaoning Provincial Library in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province, on April 8.
Since its debut in August last year, the exhibition has been staged in cities across China, including Shijiazhuang, Xi'an, Shenzhen, Beijing, Nanjing, Chongqing and Chengdu. Shenyang is the exhibition's only stop in northeastern China.
It showcases more than 500 items that explore 10 themes, including the first to the fifth editions of renminbi, commemorative coins, the methods to distinguish real from counterfeit money, and cross-border circulation of the renminbi.
In addition to authentic money and pictures, visitors can learn more about the renminbi through documents, audios and videos.
The exhibition will conclude on April 15.
