Shanxi province opened a competition for the design of creative cultural tourism products on April 1, to invite the public to tap into local cultural resources and to promote local creations.
The competition consists of activities including the display of a collection of artworks, the selection of competition entries, the conferring of awards and an exhibition.
Creative designs related to culture, tourism products, fashion articles for daily use, traditional crafts and intangible cultural heritage, brands and packaging are welcomed.
In addition, to satisfy the needs of companies for a supply of designs and to promote the commercialization of creations, the competition established a special category for company-oriented designs.
Participants can register and upload entries on the competition's official website, www.sx-ci.cn, between April 15 and June 15.
All the entries will be judged and selected by experts based on their originality, artistry, practicality and marketability from June 15 to July 15.
Winners will get their awards in mid July and their artworks will go on display at the Taiyuan Art Museum.
Through the platform of the event the sponsor, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, hopes to establish a complete industrial supply chain of culturally creative products -- ranging from research and development, to commercialization and marketing.
