Located in Huangpi district, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport is 25 kilometers (15.53 miles) from downtown Wuhan, which takes 50 minutes to reach using the airport expressway.
Brief intro:
Wuhan Tianhe International Airport opened on April 15, 1995. The third phase of construction was completed in August 2017, allowing 35 million passengers to pass through the airport each year. With one runway measuring 3,400 meters and another measuring 3,600m, around 170 routes are flown from the airport, with 53 connecting the city to international destinations such as Sydney, Tokyo, London, Paris, and San Francisco. Domestic routes include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Hangzhou. And seasonal routes include Kuala Lumpur, Boracay and Manado.
There are three terminals at the airport, covering a total area of 659,800 sq km. When terminal 3 opened in August 2017, the other two were closed. The terminal is shaped like a flying phoenix and covers 49.5 sq km; it has excellent supporting infrastructure and comprehensive facilities. The building has four floors above ground and one floor below ground. The fourth floor is home to the check-in counters and departures lounge. The arrivals hall is on the second floor and the waiting area for bus and taxi services is situated on the first floor.
