Wuzhishan hosts evening gala to celebrate Sanyuesan Festival

A themed gala was held in Wuzhishan, Hainan province, on April 7 for Sanyuesan Festival, a traditional folk festival celebrated by the Li and Miao ethnic groups on the third day of the third month in the Chinese lunar calendar.

A spectacular performance, "Walking into Wushishan", marked the beginning of the evening with melodious voices and graceful dances. Various ethnic performances that showed off local folk customs and delicacies such as the harvest and Three Color Rice, won lasting applause from the audience. The whole party came to an end as the curtain dropped after a chorus entitled "Ode to the Motherland".
