A project on the key technology behind -- and applications for – the industrialization of detergent cellulase granulation, by Shanxi University, recently won second prize of China Light Industry Federation Science and Technology Invention Award.
Organizers said the project, conducted by a research team led by Zhang Jian, a professor with School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Shanxi University, had realized the localization of detergent enzyme preparations for the first time with related products adopted by several domestic washing companies.
They added that it fills a gap in the application of industrial bio-enzymes in China's textiles industry and helps reduce the dependence of China's daily chemicals industry on petroleum derivatives.
The China Light Industry Federation Science and Technology Invention Award -- approved by the National Office for Science & Technology Awards -- recognizes organizations and individuals for making great contributions to scientific innovation, its development and promoting light industry, so as to inspire technicians and boost the technological development of light industry.
